Getting you ready for work with a Traineeship

Finding a job can be tough, especially if you don’t have much work experience. Often employers want people with previous work history before offering them a job, but then how do you get this experience in the first place?

There’s no need to worry, learndirect can help you to take that first step with a Traineeship. This is a great way to kick start your career and gives you the skills and confidence to then go on and get a job or full time paid Apprenticeship.

A Traineeship will give you…

The training you need to succeed

We’ll help you develop the skills that will prepare you for the work place, including CV writing, interview techniques, time management, problem solving at work, plus much more.

Real life work experience

You will be able to build your confidence with practical work experience. You’ll do

a placement with a local employer to really help you gain the skills that employers are looking for and the confidence that you can use in future employment.

What you need to know...

How long will it take me?

To ensure you get the most from your Traineeship, we’ll design the programme to fit your learning needs. The content’s tailored to you and the business you’re placed in, so this means your Traineeship could last anything from six weeks to a maximum of six months. However, you might feel ready for the step into long-term employment much sooner than this.

Do I have to pay anything?

Your Traineeship could be funded by the government.   We’ll discuss this with you before you start and let you know what you need to do.

What support will I get?

We’ll support you every step of the way. A mentor will give you one to one support, be there to answer any questions or concerns you have and make sure you are getting the most from your learning and work experience.

What happens after I complete my Traineeship?

You’ll now be ready to move onto a full time paid Apprenticeship and we can help find the right one for you! We’ll work with you to search through the available vacancies, fully supporting your applications to find a job to suit you. You’ll be able to use the work experience gained in your Traineeship to show employers you have the right skills for the job and that you’re ready for the step into long term employment.

How do I find out more?
