Our ‘Work Skills Programme’ is the perfect course for anyone who is out of work and actively seeking employment. The workshop will give you the skills, confidence and an accredited qualification that will help get you back to work.
On the workshop, our core programme looks at:
Planning your career
Applying for jobs
Rights and responsibilities in the workplace
You then get to add units of your choice from the following:
Managing money
Teamwork & communication skills
Customer service skills
Managing your time
Volunteering
Preparing for work
Introduction to working with vulnerable adults

I.T. Skills
Beginner IT Skills for Job seekers: OCR Functional Skills in ICT at Entry Level 3
This short course will give you the skills, knowledge and confidence in how to effectively use a computer for job searching. Through completion of the course, you even gain an accredited qualification in Entry Level 3 IT Functional Skills.
The course covers the following important aspects of job seeking:
Learn the basics of IT- Email, search engines, creating files, online job searching, MS Word
Create an email address/send and receive emails
Introduction to using ‘Universal Job Match’

Gaining a qualification in Maths is a great way to build your skills and confidence, boost your CV and help you get into a job or progress through your career path. At learndirect, we offering City and Guilds accredited courses at various levels from Entry Level 3, through to a Level 2 Certificate (equivalent to A to C grade at GCSE).
Each course is based around functional skills and so provides you with the actual skills in areas that enable you to progress in daily life.
Full funding is now available for all all levels, with anyone aged 19 or over eligible and irrespective of if you are currently in or out of employment. Enrolment for our Maths qualifications is on a rolling basis, so you can start your learning at any time. Additionally, learning is at your own pace, providing you with flexibility you need to balance the other important things in your life.

The fully-funded course will give you the skills and essential knowledge you need to work in an office-based role, therefore giving you the vital edge over others when applying for office jobs. As well as these essential skills, you’ll also receive a City and Guilds accredited NVQ Level 1 Certificate, upon completion of the programme.
